My name is Breanna and I am super excited to be part of the Horses at Home ambassador team for 2024! I reside in the Snowy Mountains of NSW and have been riding and competing on Australian Stock Horses (ASH) my whole life. I compete in Agricultural shows, ASH Branch Classes and Challenge Days, Campdrafting and Stockman’s Challenges on horses that my family have broken and started ourselves. I was a Youth Ambassador for the ASH Society in 2023 and am currently the Vice-Chair of the ASH Youth-Advisory Council, as well as Secretary of my local Branch. My current horse, Alpine Hope, was started by my father and finished by myself. Our biggest achievement so far has been placing 6th in the Novice Challenge at Battle on the Bidgee Stockman’s Challenge in Gundagai as a 5 year old at her first open challenge event. Having success with the young horses that we have started and watching them grow and improve is extremely rewarding. I take pride in the relationships I have with our horses, as well as ensuring they are looking and feeling their best.
I plan to continue campaigning our team at ag shows, ASH Branch Shows and Stockman’s Challenges and hope to see them achieve good results. We also have a young gelding who is about to be broken, with the big goal of taking him out after winter to some shows as a two year old and then working towards him and some of our other horses going to ASH Nationals in 2025. Super exciting!
