My name is Michelle Styles and I am 56 years young and still ride and prep my own horses. I live in Burra NSW and like to compete at Ag shows, High Level Welsh Shows and Royal Shows. I have shown horses for the past 40 years with much success at State, Royal and National Level and still enjoy everything I do with my boys.

I like to mix it up a bit by competing in several different disciplines such as Show Riding, a little bit of Dressage and Breed Shows.

I have 3 Welsh Ponies in my current show team all achieving exceptional results over the many years I have been competing.

My show team’s biggest achievement so far would be taking out the International Champion Welsh Cob Gelding class at the 20th International Welsh Show held at SIEC in November 2019 and Runner-up Supreme Ridden Section C Welsh Pony of Cob Type at the Australian Ridden Welsh and Part Welsh Championships which was held at the International Welsh Show.

Coming a close 2nd in the biggest achievements are their performances at Canberra Royal Show with the following results;

‘Nawarrah Park Time Traveller’ aka Marty (Section D Welsh Cob) have been 2 x Champion Ridden Welsh and two by Reserve Champion Led Welsh Gelding over the years
‘Nawarrah Park Game of Thrones’ aka Jamie (Section D Welsh Cob) has had 2 x Champion Led Welsh Gelding in 2020 and 2022
‘Nawarrah Park Poptastic’ aka Poppy (Sec C Welsh Pony of Cob Type) has had 1 x Champion Led Welsh Gelding of Sec C Breeding 2022 2 x Reserve Champion Led Welsh Gelding and 1 x Reserve Champion Ridden Welsh mostly in 2020

I also compete Marty as an Open Hunter with many Champion Led, Champion Ridden and Supreme Led and Ridden Awards to date.

“I have been a ‘Horses at Home’ customer for many, many years with so many of their rugs in my collection. These range from Cotton Rugs through to the Winter Combos.

In winter my boys live in their Winter rugs as they are very roomy, light weight and extremely warm, therefore not needing to overload the ponies with extra rugs. They are hard wearing and I get more than one season out of these rugs. They fit beautifully and I have never had mane rub or hair loss. Having Welsh Cobs, it can be hard to find rugs to fit these chunky boys, but Horses at Home seem to cater for all types.

When the show season starts we swap to the white cotton ripstop rugs and the cotton show sets which certainly make them stand out”
