Hi! My name is Zara McDonald, and I am really excited to be a brand ambassador for Horses At Home. I am a 15 year old young event rider, and I am based in Auckland, New Zealand. I have been riding since the age of 6 and currently have a team of 2 horses this season. Bentley, who is a 7 year old black thoroughbred by Sacred Falls, has only been with me for a few months. Together, we have won our first 4 eventing starts. I am planning to step him up to CCN105 next season, and I am really excited for our future together as it is looking bright. And Bizzie Just Chillin, who is a 5 year old skewbald mare by Bizzie Canoodling. Over the winter, I am planning to take Chilli out to some grassroots show jumping shows and slowly bring her up the heights, as this pony has some real talent.
A few of my biggest achievements include winning the NZPCA Champs MT Cup on and completing my first CCN1* on Ngahiwi Makem at the Puhinui 3day event in 2023, and winning my first 4 eventing starts on Bentley at CCN95.
Some of my goals for the future. My short term goals include stepping up to CCN105 on Bentley and doing the showjumping winter series on Bizzie Just Chillin. My midterm goals include stepping up to CCI2* on Bentley and completing a Pony Mini Prix on Bizzie Just Chiilin. My long term goals include representing New Zealand and competing at 5* level in eventing.
